Moreover, you can skip using butter when using heavy cream because they serve almost the same purpose. You can use the heavy cream and the whipping cream interchangeably for your macaroni and cheese. Cream cheese

Ingredients

  • 4-6 cups of water

  • About 2 and a half cups of macaroni

  • Cheese of any choice; British mature cheddar cheese, grated mozzarella cheese, British red Leicester cheese, mozzarella cheese. Or my recipe, I use all of the named cheese.

  • Milk

  • Seasonings: Garlic powder, all-purpose seasoning, and paprika.

Directions

  • Put water in a cooking pot and bring to a boil.
  • Add about a teaspoon of salt to the boiling water.
  • Add about 2 and a half cups of macaroni and let boil for about 5-6 minutes. This boiling period depends on the instructions that are on the package of the macaroni.
  • Stir it up and until everything mix well in the boiling water.
  • While the macaroni is boiling, mix all the cheese you are using in a plate or a small bowl.
  • Stir the cooked macaroni for the last time to mix everything then drain the excess water.
  • Mix in some butter to the already cooked macaroni. The reason you are doing this is to help stop further cooking of the macaroni.
  • Turn on your heat and on a clean pan, add butter and a little bit of flour and stir until everything is mixed.
  • Add milk or any of the above substitutes gradually as you stir the mixture.
  • Ensure that everything is well mixed.
  • Add your seasonings, that is, garlic powder, paprika and all-seasonings. This is to give the mixture a little bit of a spicy taste and flavor. Then stir well.
  • Preheat the oven to about 200 degrees.
  • Add cheese to the boiling mixture and mix in well. Ensure that the mozzarella and all the other cheese are melted.
  • Add macaroni and mix it well for about three minutes.
  • Pour the mixture in a baking tin and spread it evenly. At this point, you can and more cheese as topping.
  • Put your mixture in the oven and bake for 30-40 minutes.
  • Serve as desired.

You can prepare the recipe with milk, or any of the above milk substitutes and choose whether or not to use eggs in your recipe.
