  • Preheat the oven to 350°F:

  • Mix all the spices:
The next is the mixing of all the spices. Gather all the spices (as mentioned in the ingredients), measure them, and then mix them all in a small bowl.
  • Refried bean and beef topping:
Take a pan and add vegetable oil in it, heat it until it starts shimmering. Then cook the ground beef in a pan, add all the mixed taco spices in it. When you feel that meat is cooked properly, break the meat into crumbles by using a spoon.
Cook it for more 8 minutes until the meat turns brown, after that use a strainer to drain out the fat. When it is done, the next step is to add the refried beans and water to the pan. Heat the material in a pan to make a smooth and warm mixture.
Turn the flame low to keep the mixture warm while preparing the chips.
  • The toasting of the chips:
Arrange the tortilla chips on a 13×18 inch oven-safe plate in a single layer, in a slightly overlapping position. In a preheated oven, toast your chips for about 5 minutes; you will enjoy its sweet aroma. This aroma is an indication that our chips have been toasted properly.
  • Assembly and baking of nachos:
Take out the pan from the oven. Now it’s a time to assemble and bake the nachos. Put half of the shredded cheese on the toasted chips. Wait for a small time to allow the cheese to melt slightly by the heat of the toasted chips and then go for topping.

Things to remember while making nachos with cheese:

      Wisely choose chips:

Thin chips may attract us because they are very crispy and crunchy, but the problem is that they cannot take the weight of all the toppings. Whether you buy the chips from a brand or a local grocery store, the main point to remember is that the “chips must be heavy and hearty”, because they will not be easily cracked. Thick chips will have high structural integrity and you will not have to face the problems like crumbling or breaking of chips under pressure.

Pick out the perfect cheese combination:

You cannot surely say that the expensive sharp cheese will be the best cheese for nachos. It is might possible that such expensive cheese gets crumbly. It is suggested that always carefully choose the best combination of cheeses for both flavor and melting ability. Pre-shredded cheddar cheese will not be the right choice for nachos. Shred your cheese and avoid chopping or tearing of the cheese. Small shredded pieces of cheese will easily melt.

      Layer like a pro:

Perfect sequenced layers of chips and toppings will lead to delicious nachos. To get the crunchy and gooey textured nachos, cover the bottom of the tray with the layer of chips, then add your desired toppings, like shredded cheese, meat, and beans, etc. then repeat the same sequence for chips and toppings. Then spread the cheese over it and place it in the oven. One layer of chips and toppings is considered good, but their double layer is better.

      Everything should be bite-sized:

Forks and knives are banned at the nacho table, so be careful and make small pieces of all the elements to eat in one bite. If you are using chicken or steaks in nachos toppings then shred chicken finely and cut the steaks into small pieces.

Keep hot and cold ingredients separate:

Meat, chips, beans, and cheese all taste delicious when hot. They can be placed in the oven together. While the ingredients like salsa, fresh herbs, sour cream, avocado, guacamole taste good when served just before serving.

      Try different flavors:

We should also try the new recipes for nachos. There is a possibility that we may like the Asian and Indian-style nachos. Change is always good. Keep exploring!

      Easy cleanup:

Melted cheese is the best thing to eat but also the scrapping of the melted cheese from the baking sheet is the worst thing. Use “Aluminum foil” and line your baking sheet with this foil. You just have to crumble it up and put in the garbage, when you are done with eating nachos with cheese.
