Lasagna with Sausage, Swiss cheese and Swiss chard
Recipe by The Cheese MacCourse: MainCuisine: ItalianDifficulty: Easy
There are a wide variety of gruyere cheese recipes that are tasty and amazing for all the cheese lovers. My favorite gruyere cheese recipe include the following.
1 bulk Italian sausage
2 minced garlic cloves
3/4 cup of sliced mushroom
1 bunch of Swiss chard
3 tablespoon butter
¼ cup of all-purpose flour
3 cups of milk
Shredded gruyere or Swiss cheese
1 teaspoon of parsley flakes
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Uncooked lasagna noodles
1 teaspoon of grated lemon zest
¼ teaspoon of pepper
½ teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Cook the sausage, garlic and mushroom over a medium heat for about 10 minutes to lose the pink color of the sausage and to make the mushrooms tender.
Break the sausage to form crumbles and remove from the pan.
Take your Swiss chard and remove the stems, then coarsely chop the stems.
Put butter in a pan and heat over a medium heat then add flour to it and stir gently.
Add milk to the mixture then continue stirring until it boils and forms a thick consistency.
Add 3/4 cheese, salt, pepper, lemon zest, salt, oregano and parsley. Stir until all the cheese in the mixture melts. Add the Swiss chard leaves.
Spread the remaining 1/4 of the cheese to your baking pan and grease it all over. Layer the meat mixture, noodles and cheese sauce one after the other and repeat the process until you are done with all the mixture. Then sprinkle the remaining amount of cheese over the mixture.
Bake it for 45 minutes while covered. Then uncover the mixture and bake for an additional 10 minutes until all the cheese has melted. Let cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
